July 2022 - SEF Celebrates the Calculus Project

On July 29th, SEF board members along with Mayor Katjana Ballentyne, Councilor Kristen Strezzo, School Committee Member Ilana Krepchin, and SPS's Assistant Superintendent of Academics Equity Dr. Jessica Boston Davis attended the End of Program Ceremony for Somerville's Calculus Project. The mission of the Calculus Project summer program is to "use research supported strategies to increase the representation and success of  Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and low income students in advanced mathematics." We are so lucky to have such a great program in our city!  We are so proud of the participating students who worked so hard to get ahead in math and had fun while doing it!
